Please be mindful of the following guidance that applies during training. Attire standards apply to both men and women.
Tops
- We recommend wearing rash guards, but compression shirts or T-shirts are perfectly acceptable. Inexpensive rash guards can be purchased on Amazon. Higher quality rash guards are available at the 111 Project store and are also sold in limited quantities at the event.
- Tank tops are prohibited. Sleeves must be worn and should cover at least the upper portion of the arm.
- Crop tops are prohibited. The top MUST fully cover the torso, from the neck to the waistline.
- V-neck and plunging necklines are prohibited. The top MUST fully cover the chest.

Bottoms
- Athletic bottoms are strongly preferred over “tactical pants” or cotton/denim trousers.
- Shorts are appropriate; however, the groin area must remain fully covered while lying on your back. We recommend wearing mid-thigh briefs, spats, or yoga pants beneath the shorts.
- Spats/yoga pants are appropriate; however, if wearing spats or yoga pants, you must wear shorts over them.

Shoes
Shoes are prohibited on the mat. Students will train barefoot on a clean mat. As such, most students prefer to wear flip-flops or sandals to/from the training venue, as they are quick and easy to put on and take off.
Equipment
Do not bring any duty gear to the training venue, including, but not limited to, firearms, duty belts, inert/training weapons, body armor, handcuffs, etc.
Protective Gear
Cups/groin protection, mouth guards, knee/elbow sleeves, etc., are optional.
Hygiene
In addition to general physical cleanliness, please trim long toenails and fingernails for your safety and the safety of other students.
Jewelry
Necklaces, watches, dangling earrings, and protruding rings may not be worn while you are on the mats. We strongly recommend that all earrings and other piercings be removed or taped to the body to prevent injury.
